    OBJEKTIF KURSUS

    Setelah mengikuti kursus ini, pelajar akan dapat:

    1. Menghuraikan tahap penguasaan dan punca-punca kegagalan menguasai kemahiran matematik.
    2. Mengenalpasti kemahiran asas matematik dan kaedah pengajaran pemulihan matematik
    3. Merancang dan membina rancangan mengajar harian matematik dengan menggunakan strategi, kaedah, dan teknik yang sesuai.
    4. Menjelaskan jenis-jenis Bahan Bantu mengajar dan menggunakannya dengan berkesan dalam pengajaran matematik.

  • This course is offered by the Faculty of Education and Languages, Open University of Malaysia (OUM) for Open and Distance Learners has been designed to prepare you for the unique of studying at Open University Malaysia (OUM) and it will develop and enhance your skills in teaching Primary School Mathematics. The course is worth 3 credit hours which should be covered over 15 weeks.

     

    The aim of teaching mathematics is to build up the mathematical power in pupils. They are encouraged and trained to think mathematically. Exposure to the wonders of mathematics would make us appreciate its beauty and utility. Teaching mathematics is a complex endeavor and there is no one effective methods that can be prescribe for all pupils at any one time. Various approaches, strategies and techniques in mathematics which are proven effective need to be practiced by teachers in delivering their teaching and learning sessions. The constructivist view focuses on the importance of pupils building their own scheme of knowledge into existing internal structures. Using cooperative learning methods and techniques, teachers take on the additional role of a facilitator by orchestrating the lessons to get the pupils to be actively involved in the learning process. Contextual learning promotes learning in a meaningful way. A well-blend lesson would provide maximum advantage for pupils to make up their concepts and acquire skills in an integrated and systematic way.

    COURSE SYNOPSIS




  • In this course, students will learn to teach the key concepts in geometry, measurement and data handling. Effective planning and teaching of these topics will be discussed through related key issues. Application of their knowledge and understanding is shown in the micro and macro teaching sessions.
